At this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg the BDLI’s Competence Network Cabin | Cargo presented a joint concept of ‘innovations flying tomorrow’ (the BDLI or Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie e.V is the German Aerospace Industries Association).
Dr. Stefan Berndes, head of air transport, equipment and materials at BDLI says, “Under the slogan ‘Imagine’, the five path changing evolutions of inflight innovations are visualised at the booth. They are the result of a team approach, in which an OEM [Airbus] and international partners developed a vision together for the very first time.”
Starting with a scenario process and reflecting market needs they created a future dream of flying together. In line with the mission statement “Cooperate to Innovate,” all of the displayed solutions follow the network’s idea for the optimal integration and bundling of the various technologies and key competencies available in the market.
The following video shows some of the innovative ideas that the collaborative team came up with:
The BDLI’s Competence Network Cabin | Cargo is made up of the following companies: Airbus Operations GmbH, AOA Apparatebau Gauting GmbH, B/E Aerospace Systems GmbH, Diehl Aerospace GmbH, Diehl Aerosystems Holding GmbH, Diehl Aircabin GmbH, Diehl Comfort Modules GmbH, Diehl Service Modules GmbH, Goodrich Lighting Systems GmbH, Hutchinson Aerospace GmbH, Recaro Aircraft Seating GmbH & Co.
